About Westy Park & Green Spaces

Westy is a community in Warrington, Cheshire. It contains Westy Park and several areas of Green Spaces. As residents, we love our local areas of greenery, and are passionate about seeing them improved for all to enjoy!

Westy Park used to be a town dump, and is a decommissioned landfill area site. For many decades now it has been used as a park by local residents, with many years history of local involvement in

Please have a look at our Westy Park plan, showing many improvements we have planned, several of which are due to deliver over the next year.

Technically, Westy is in the Latchford East area of Warrington. With a population of around 3,500 people, it contains one ward that is within the 10% most deprived areas nationally, and one that is within the 20% most deprived.

Our Green Spaces have the potential to provide a beautiful green perimeter to an estate that does not always feel like a haven to its residents. Our hope is to see a partnership between Friends of Westy Park & Green Spaces, joining with the council and other agencies to deliver a long term protection, preservation and improvement of our Green Spaces.

Our comprehensive Five Point Plan covers this in detail, and has been approved by many bodies including the Environment Agency, Warrington Disability Partnership and the Latchford East Ward Forum.
